Agronomy Update — April 16, 2026

Bunker Renovation Progress

Work on Hole 16 will wrap up tomorrow with the final load of bentgrass sod. The construction team is now focused on closing the old 13 fairway bunkers. We’re hopeful that Friday’s sod delivery will provide enough material to complete that work. This week alone, the team installed 42,000 square feet of sod — an impressive effort as we finish this phase of renovation before work pauses until October 2026.

On Hole 13, the old bunkers will be removed with the fairway expanding slightly up the hill.

Our agronomy team continues grooming and refining new turf areas for optimal play. This week, we mowed the new approaches on Holes 13, 14, and 16, as well as the fairway near the 16th green, down to existing fairway height. While these areas remain a bit bumpy, we’re rolling and topdressing regularly to smooth them out. The rough on these holes is establishing well, allowing us to gradually lower its height. Maintenance of the new bunker faces is ongoing as we fine-tune mower settings to minimize any scalping.

Holes 13, 14, and 15 will reopen for a sneak peek on Saturday, then close again until April 28 to allow the turf to continue maturing.

Please refrain from playing closed holes, walking on newly sodded areas, or entering roped-off sections. Thank you for your cooperation and support throughout the renovation process.

On the Course

We’re back on our regular mowing schedule across greens and all major playing surfaces. In addition to on-course work, our team continues projects around the club grounds:

  • Clubhouse Area: The front lawn has been resodded after adding 20 yards of topsoil to cover exposed maple roots — improving both turf health and appearance.
Daniel & Santiago moving soil up to the front of clubhouse.

  • Course Applications: On Monday and Tuesday, we applied preventive fungicide and insecticide treatments to the fairways, greens, and tees. The fungicide helps control Fairy Ring and Dollar Spot, while the insecticide targets Annual Bluegrass Weevil, a pest that feeds on and lays eggs in bentgrass.
  • Hole 4 Pathway: The stone path by the 4th tee was treated with Better Billy Bunker polymer this week and is now open for foot traffic.
  • Irrigation: With the recent stretch of warm, dry weather, our crew has also been busy hand-watering to maintain consistent turf moisture.
