Agronomy Update – September 4, 2026

Bermuda Grass & Bunker Project.

This week, the agronomy team treated 10 acres using our GPS sprayer and completed holes 1-11 with a handheld sprayer. We will finish the Roundup application this coming Tuesday.

Our civil engineering partner also marked the work limits for the fairway bunkers on holes 8, 12, and 15 in preparation for the pre-construction meeting with the county next Wednesday.

The Fairway Sodding & Bunker project kicks off the week of September 14. On that date, the construction company will install erosion and sediment controls on fairway bunkers 8, 12, and 15. Please check with the pro shop for any hole closures during this work.

Sod installation will begin on Hole 1. We will keep you posted as the project progresses.

Course Operations

Late-week storms kept the crew busy. Wednesday brought 0.6 inches of rain over about 40 minutes, followed by 2 inches Thursday night in roughly an hour. The bunkers took a beating, so Friday morning it was all hands-on deck, a crew of 10 spent the entire day pumping out water and repairing washouts. The good news: the new bunkers drained well and held up with minimal washouts.

Daniel and Santiago also tackled a tough irrigation break in the parking lot. Maple-tree roots had grown over two valve boxes, making the dig-out a two-day job. All told, the repair took four days, but it is back in working order.
